Mental Health in the Construction Industry 2019
You are invited to take part in a study regarding mental health within the construction industry conducted by the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB).
Mental health issues in the construction industry have been described as the ‘silent epidemic.’ Yet it isn’t that silent when you consider the statistics. According to the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), anxiety and depression have overtaken musculoskeletal issues as the most reported health problem in the construction sector; suicide in the sector is high - with 454 construction workers dying by suicide in 2016. This survey aims to highlight mental health concerns within the construction industry and identify what levels are at most risk.
Throughout the survey there are opportunities for you to add any additional information you would like the CIOB to be aware of, but this is not compulsory.
We stress that all responses will be strictly anonymous. No personal details will be passed on or used by the CIOB. If you have questions at any time about the survey or the procedures, please contact our Policy Team:
As a thank you for taking part in the survey you will be eligible for our prize draw of winning a £100 Amazon gift voucher. If you would like to be entered in the draw, please leave your email address at the end of the survey.
Thank you very much for your time and support. Please begin the survey by clicking on the Next button below.
